Members frenchbritt Posted June 30, 2019 Members Posted June 30, 2019 I need to replace my boat trailer tires. They are ST175/80 R13. I was wondering what brands do you all recommend. I presently have commodore now. I was wanting to replace with a heavier ply tire and something with a higher hwy speed possible. Thanks for advice.
Dutch Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Just get trailer tires not car tires. They generally have a better side wall.
Gavin Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Etrailer.com order new tires mounted on wheels. They will ship them to your door.

moguy1973 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Or just go to Walmart. They sell them premounted on wheels already. Just have to make sure they have the right lug pattern. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Loadstar-Bias-Tire-and-Wheel-Rim-Assembly-ST175-80D-13-5-Hole-B-Ply/37310212?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227427061796&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42530032952&wl4=pla-768187170376&wl5=9022877&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=37310212&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjZ21nOmS4wIVBrbACh3w-g61EAQYAiABEgKdJvD_BwE -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
jdmidwest Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 When buying tires, always check the load rating on them. The cheaper tires are for lighter loads. I buy tires from a tire shop and have them mounted there also. They last longer than the cheap ones. The ones I can get you are the exact same tires as you can get down at Lowe's or Walmart and they are already premounted on wheels. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I use these guys. Great people! Midwest's largest selection of trailer hitches and parts. https://northwesttireandauto.com/

The ones at my tire shop have better load rating than what Wally world carries. They wear better and don't heat up. The tire costs more than a tire and rim at Wally, but hold up better. My 12, 13, and 14 trailer tires are all steel belted radial tires. Cheap ones are poly cord. Cheap ones are ok on short trips with light loads. My bass boat runs on 4-5 hour trips at interstate speeds. nomolites and liphunter 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
