Stocked and nearly ready to roll.   I'll be driving stakes after lunch tomorrow.

You are a piece of work.  Stay on topic.

Explain how you learned all this info about the spawning habits of stripers and asian carp. That info likely came from someone with a "certificate". Were you TOLD this information?  Read it in a book? 🤣

Thank you!  😊

Figured it out on my own AFTER reading all I could find on those topics, and speaking to folks that pretend to know.

Now, since you have the confidence that there are plenty to be caught, come on down to Lake O and see if you can catch you some !    It's almost time!

Next time you and Ol'Greg are having a convo, toss him a Bailey's and ask him why they never mention Stripers in fish survey reports on LO.

Just for clarity, my position is that they don't stock enough to matter, and haven't since the 80's.   I clearly said that they obviously have dumped SOME brood stock in here..... otherwise there wouldn't be ANY.

But the 12-18 inchers that get caught on the lower end didn't haulass immediately there from Wigwam or Gale.

150,000 ?    Get outta here!   They might be funded for that amount but I'd seriously challenge the guy doing the counting.  Why intentionally stock both Stripers AND hybrids?   And then not even mention STRIPERS as a species to be sought after?   See, it just screams BS.

You said multiple times they haven't been stocked in more than 20 years.  You are backtracking.

I said actively stocked.  They have to have some stripers in order to produce hybrids, and that is obviously the only reason they have for housing stripers at all.   The claims of them miraculously having 150k to stock, but only once every 5 years, just really doesn't make any sense when you think about it.

Does it make sense to you?

150,000 is on the low end for fish stocking on a lake the size of LOZ.  That is ~ 3 fish per acre.

So why even bother, or claim to bother?

I hate to jump in here and risk getting soaked by the ammonia-scented overspray... 😜

It would be interesting to know what size Striped Bass are being stocked.  Whether 150K fry, fingerlings, or 6"-12" fish, could have a huge difference in results in terms of survivabilty.  If its fry, and if fry had projected survivability of 10%, vs. projected 90% survivability of larger fish...you can see how huge of a difference that could be.  (Don't quote those percentages...I made them up.)
