Excellent. Points or flats?

Maybe that's why I've been striking out, been fishing too deep. I guess that kinda makes sense, was catching them pretty good when the water was high, but haven't done well since they dropped it. They haven't moved at all, but I did, thinking they moved deeper.

Sexed many walleyes over the years and that is true. With experience a good biologist can hit around 95% accuracy. I wouldn't used the term key shaped though More like an elongated tear drop.

Caught several short walleyes, a couple keeper crappie, several bass trolling flicker shads 20 ft deep over 50-70 fow in the dam area. Thought it a little strange.

Well we are fishing on the Eastside again not a lot of structure over here so that is very good to know.

I was recently fishing Summersville Lake in West Virginia and they were suspended 50 to 70 feet down over 90 to 120 ft.

Keep in mind this Lake had no length limits and we reeled up the ones that didn't feel like keepers very very slowly. If their swim bladders were popped out we kept them so no irresponsible fishing here.

I am no walleye fisherman but have been in touch with Bruce (Doc) Samson several times over the years.  He is a professional walleye fisherman.  I tried to get serious about walleye for a while.  Every time I would tell him what I was doing and ask for advice his response was generally that I was not fishing deep enough to find the big females.

I am no expert, I would bet the big girl are suspended in open water just over the thermocline most days, and probably hiding under a bluff ledge at about the same level.

Those of us who do the jerk bait thing in the winter have seen them, come in under the boat, from the deep on thier way to the bank.

Just my opinion, I am going to give the sharp shooting thing a whirl one of these days.

Check out Uncut Angling Sharpshooting on YouTube.

Largest 2 were both 22 inches... Smallest was 15.5".

Caught another 10 or so sub legal... Also the requisite 20 catfish and drum...

Trolling shad raps, stick baits and bottom bouncing.  Nothing caught deeper than 15'.
