The announcers talked about running faster with a little chop on the water rather than dead calm.  They actually got into the physics of running even a few miles quicker.

I’d like to see it live.

It’s true. That glass slick water just slows you down.

I ain't riding with ya though.

My ex BIL drives a Top Fuel Dragster and always refused to get in a boat with me. I really should be the guy that holds the World speed record on water. You want to build a boat that will hit 319?

No!

I'm not a performance tuner by any stretch of the imagination.  I'm a mechanic that tunes for longevity. Any performance work I do comes with zero warranty because I admit up-front that I have NO IDEA what I'm doing.

Things that are on the verge of grenading scare me.  😳

I’m always surprised at how many boats run at the shootout that top out at 80mph or less. I mean, what’s the point. You certainly aren’t showing off or impressing me with your “performance boat” when I see bass boats that can do that. Now those 100+mph pontoon boats...wow! BALLS!!! No thanks.

There will I’ll be a LOT of money on the lake this weekend though, for sure.

Think most want to drink and party. Some might spend to buy  boats that would hit 80mph. Others might spend to break 100, or  150. Small stupid pecker contest IMO, their wife’s are hoping that they die in they shootout so the can screw their BF’s more often IMO.
