The four keepers i caught Sunday were all on crainkbaits. I use a deep runner on main lake points and a squarebill around docks. Caught plenty of fish but no money fish.

Sure is fun way to catch fish when they are on it.

My partner threw an 5XD for a while on Sunday and I think caught one little bass about 12". I don't have any big squarebills either. All of my stuff is 1.5 and a couple 2.5's for river fishing.

I actually pulled up to a main lake point that has big brush pile that is about 15-20 deep and threw my deep running crankbait to come through it and ended up getting 5 fish there and 3 of them were keepers. Every time i felt it hit the brush and come through i would get a fish.

There were two guys fishing in a really nice Nitro with dual power poles across the point from me and after i caught those fish they came over slowly and said hope you don't mind we came over but man we had to know what you're doing. They said we been fishing all day and not gotten squat and they were pre-fishing for this Costa tournament this weekend and we are not from around here and said we see you pull up and catch 5. So I showed them the crankbait and we talked a bit and i wished them luck.

One thing i know from experience, i could pull up to that point 5 different times and not get anything and then on the 6th time they have decided to feed and they eat whatever is pitched in there and it can be fun.

Twice, two weeks ago I hung the square bill up and I was giving it slack to see if it would float loose and both times it got smoked!

You gotta bang them around if you want to catch fish.

Sounds similar to a spot we stumbled upon. I saw it on my side imaging while moving to another spot around the secondary point and decided to mark it and come to fish it. After dragging a 10" worm and a shakey head through it, I decided to slow roll a 3/4oz spinnerbait through it and hooked up as soon as I started bumping in to the cover. That spot only seemed good for one fish per stop though and I could only get them to bite on that spinnerbait. My only thought was that maybe they weren't buried in the cover and were instead suspending over it and I was bringing that spinnerbait right through them. My partner tried the 5XD over the top of the brush, but I'm not sure he was getting down far enough to reach it. I think it was in 16-18' of water if I remember correctly.

Went out on the shallow flats after some Whites yesterday evening and failed to connect with any, but did catch 3 keeper LM and 6-8 shorts (where the Whites SHOULD BE) in no time at all.

No brush or cover anywhere close, so they are just cruising the shallow open water.  I was hucking streamers on the 7wt., but if I was looking to catch a limit of green bass today I'd get out there and fan cast a 1/2oz. RedEye Shad over 3-7 foot of water.
