I am by far no crappie guy. but love to eat them. I have never had much luck with crappie fishing TR at all.

have any of you all had any luck catching them recently and if so what types of areas you all are finding them.

Docks and timber.

Not every dock and not every bit of timber. When you find a successful spot mark/remember it. It will produce time, and time, and time again. Most guys I know have a dedicated milk run they have confidence in.

This time of year isn't a numbers game. Your not going to catch 15 fish limits every time out and there will be a lot of 3-5 fish days but your not going to be catching many shorts.

right now, they many are wherever the shad have gather up.  i caught 4 keeper crappie the other day bass fishing on a 1/2 Zinc Spoon, and there were right there feeding on the same shad with the bass.

Good luck with that.  This time of the year deep fishing and catching multiple species is not uncommon, really its very common.  Deal is for folks that don't deep fish to find them.  Not so easy, there is a lot of water out there.

I'd pack my tube jigs and head for Lake O.

i have been thinking about doing that very thing myself.  water temps should be about right.

Luke. They are definitely harder to find on TRL compared to some other lakes to the north of us but it can be done. Devan definitely hit it on the head. Right now I'd look back in the creek arms they'll be suspended in the tree tops in the 20-30" range. You may see a tree loaded with them but only catch a couple off of it. Once that happens move on to the next spot. We grinded a few out ourselves this past weekend.  Good luck! - Kenny

If it were me and I was confined to Table Rock, I'd try to up my odds by fishing the upper reaches of the James or Kings river arms, or perhaps Long Creek. Crappie thrive in stained water and around pole timber. Just like bass fishing, the more fish you're around, the more you are likely to catch.
