How's everyone's duck season going thus far? Been hit or miss for me. Lots of gaddies dead, few mallards. Let me know what you've done and where! Looking to give a report to ESPN soon. Will cite you!

Hunting that corn looks good...wish we had some to hunt on this side of the state...high water kept 4rivers from getting a crop in...it’s been tough but still having fun... we’ve got a pretty goo

Lots of long faces at most public places.  Birds got stale real quick and avoided working into areas with cover.  Tree rows and willow clumps were avoided like the plague.  Those that adapted killed s

Finally killed one today (beginner)! Thinking 8 down, with 5 shooting. One guy from KY got a nice pair of mallards to mount, and another guy got an awesome wood duck drake.

Who’s retrieving these ducks? The new guy?

I really miss the thrill of calling in some ducks and knocking them down. Beautiful dog work to bring them in. Don’t care to do a draw and hope I get to hunt. Don’t have the knees, time or patience to scout and hunt locally, though I know there are lots of ducks around. Can’t justify the cost of a club membership.  These Brittanys don’t like water so much.

It’s a pickle!

This was in IL near Vandalia. No cover at Shanks this year!

Very little cover at Grand Pass this year either. Hard to get hidden. If you do manage to kill one, you better hope it lands dead and in open water. Otherwise, it is really hard to find in the scrub.

Sweet! I won’t be getting out this weekend probably, but I think we are probably going to go on the 22nd. My brother got a reservation at Eagle Bluffs  that I think we are going to try to use. I haven’t been there in a few years and have no idea what things look like up there, but we’ll figure it out, I suppose.
