SC II 5'6" rod blanks are cheap, and available.

And the Falcon blank is just IM6 graphite, also cheap and available.

But I mean whatever.  Just trying to inject a little common sense.   Carry on 😉

Common or not, I dig these rods for these uses and I just want them a bit shorter is all.

Adjust yourself, not your tackle.

Given the choice, anyone building a rod would fit the handle from the tip.  With that said it is perfectly acceptable to fit it from the butt and to build up the blank to fit with arbors.  Removing the old handle and reel seat is a little bit of a job and once you do that and then fit the new handle and reel seat it may be more economical to purchase a new blank and have an reputable rod builder build you what you want.  Hope this helps.

I would think the action would also change. Maybe ML to medium, my two cents and medium to fast

To add to my previous post.  I think Tanderson15's point is completely valid and also your guide train will be compromised.  Your reel will be 6 inches closer to your first guide and this may change how your guides function.  Don't let my opinion keep you from doing this if you are set on it, but it may not turn out the way you want.  It is really hard to find "good" short rods or short blanks to build on.  I think you can buy the St. Croix blank, not sure about the Falcon.  North Fork Composites has 5 and 1/2 foot blanks that could be cut down and they have a quality product but their customer service may leave something to be desired.  Best of luck however you decide to go.

You can definitely buy a SC Premier blank, it is their SCII blank.

Falcon blanks are nothing more than standard mass produced Chinese or Mexican IM6 blanks that can be bought through Mudhole, Jann's, Hook & Hackle, or any place that sells rod building supplies.  Taper (butt diameter vs. tip diameter) is the only difference between actions.  Buy a 9-10' blank and you can cut any standard Falcon, Duckett, All Star, Okuma, Quantum, BPS Qualifier, ect.  blank you want out of it, from ultra-lite to Heavy Flipping.

I believe St. Croix has stopped selling their blanks.  You might find some NOS at some supplier.  Seems like maybe the higher end blanks were still going to be available but it might take some searching.

By golly you're right.  That was news to me!   MHX/Batson crossovers are the closest comparable.

The value of my high-end custom SC rods just took a substantial leap.   Thanks for the heads up on that.  Now I gotta start worrying about breaking one. 🤪
