They are bitter until freeze.. then all that starch turns to sugar and its game on... great late season plot for the big boys that need to put back on weight to survive the winter

Ain't nothing better than picking a turnup out of your food plot before getting on stand. Sitting there peeling it and slicing off some to eat while watching the deer eat the tops. Used to put turnip seed in my plot out the back window. Fun watching the yarded up deer coming in the late winter trying to get them out of the ground to eat them.

Ya know the deer pee while they are eating those turnips.

That's why I skin my turnups. Maybe that's why they grow so well. Fertilizer!

I can help you with your squirrel problem . lethal and quiet. Would even take them home with me so you wouldn't have to mess with them. :)

What's your nightly rate and disposal charges for armadillo control?  Also mileage and per diem.

They do eat the tops for a while.  Every time I've had them out where they can get to them, like I said, one morning they would just be dug up, eat up and gone.  Never seen one/them do it but do know they have that ability!

I like me some armadillo damage control. I may pay you to let me take care of them. :) Think is they are not a game animal. Only kill for damage control. I was told to do what I have to do but to dispose of them discreetly. You should see what the .25 cal PCP air rifle will do to them. The best deal was a few years back while Pat and I were getting ready to go teal hunting. I seen a pair under our apple tree. I had a machete handy I crept over and got one on first swing. The other got confused and started running in circles. It took two swings and that was that!

We had less Japanese beetles last year and not so much yard damage now. Not many grubs to dig for I suppose.

We always planted Turnips in Northern Michigan when I was younger, acre or more next to the acre of red potatoes. We harvested the turnip greens(love them) and let the deer have at them.  They would dig down thru the snow after them and it looked like a rototiller had been in there. Great late... season place to fill the freezer.

I for one hope that the one silver lining in COVID 19 is that it wioes japanese beetles from the face of the earth.  Last year wasn't nearly as bad but for a couple of years they really hammered my orchard and everything else.  I still have plenty of Malthion left for them.  Also some grub killer I will uae.  I absolutely hare them things.
