Do we know what kinda boat/motor it was?

If you can tell what hull this is from the bottom, this is their boat, looks like the motor broke off the transom.

First guess: Triton.

2nd guess: Stratos.

3rd guess: Tidecraft/Cobra.

Well, they recovered the last body today near the Shiloh Military site.  They found the first one 2 days ago, one yesterday, and the third today.  Its about 5 river miles downstream from the dam and about a third of the way to where the boat was found.  The families can now have some closure.

Final body recovered.

Well, my second guess was the correct one.   20' Stratos.  

Wish we knew how it all went down.  No surveillance at the dam, hu?    I thought they all had surveillance cams running 24/7.   Even the lock&dams on the Mississippi are surveilled.   

Not even a crew member in the dam area keeping an eye on things?   I find that interesting.

There was shots of the three before they went over, not published.  It was confirmed that they were in the boat before it went over the gate.  I wonder if they had jackets on.  Not that it would have helped in the turbulence.

But I guess nobody watching and no chance of shutting the gate.

Yeah!   What’s up with that?   90% of the places I’m in daily have cameras.   My house included.  They Even have cameras in the Beer Cave.  👀

Naw c'mon, there had to have been a significant amount of time for someone to react.    

If nothing else the two boys could have paddled the boat hard enough and long enough for someone to make a 911 call and for help to arrive.   I've singlehandedly paddled a 24'pontoon boat against heavy wind and boat wakes.   You may not gain much ground but you can darn sure hold your position if your life is at stake.

No.  I have cameras to do that.  Record it and notify me when it triggers.  Live on a cul de sac in the burbs.  Rarely anyone around but if you are.   Please smile.  You’re welcome to do what you want.

I guess I’ll give my 2 cents...It’s a river and not much current break...but hard to imagine they couldn’t see it coming...I guess big motor didn’t start...and must’ve been a weak battery on the trolling motor...but I think I would’ve jumped way before it got to the edge...hard to say tho
