I wonder if cramming people into jails for being outdoors isn't self-defeating as a way to enforce social distancing.

The lawmen in my area are operating NOW like they should always operate, and that is.....If nobody is calling in making complaints about what you're doing, then they are leaving you alone.

The deputy's aren't out looking for people to harrass, and trying to create trouble if they can't find any.   No more pulling random people over for "license plate lights" and other lame reasons just to sniff in their cars and check for warrants.

Life is (once again) good.  👍  Thanks COVID19 !

A frequent caller to the "domestic violence hotline" was told to leave and not go back, and to not call again unless someone was not allowing her to leave.   This is the way it used to be, and the way it SHOULD BE.

So since nobody in my family is sick and dying, I can honestly say that life is better now than it was pre-corona.

I've noticed the same thing about not seeing any cops the little time I am on the road.

Traffic cops are running speed traps like crazy around here.  Since school is out, wrecks are almost nil, they don't have anything better to do.  Body shops are shutting down, not enough work because all the bad, distracted drivers staying home.

Brian's cottages are closed as are motels. I tried to get a trip in a few weeks ago with the wife.  They said Mc Cormick lake was still open, but need 4wd to get thru potholes and post sentries to keep meth heads out of camp.  Boat ramps open but river too high to do any good.

I am old, and I might be wrong, but I think the Eleven Point from Greer Springs to Riverton is Nation Scenic Riverways, Park Service.

The Eleven Point River is a  National Wild and scenic River administered by  the Forest service division of the Department of Agriculture.

Probably all for naught since the river won't be fishable til June due to high water.

I am not currently renting my cottages out due to the virus.  Please consider when you visit, you may be bringing the virus unknowingly.  We have our 1st confirmed case.  People have been packing in places like McCormack Lake, creating their own little village of people on weekends and popping into the grocery store.  Please consider giving the area more time until the doctors (not politicians) give the all clear.  If you live down the road and can get here without stops for gas or services, then enjoy.  That has been my rule of thumb, get outside everyday, but I have been keeping myself in my home county for now.  No long drives.

Obey the government, stay at home.  Be a good citizen....  Enjoy your check that you have to deal with next year at tax time.
