I read that the park would reopen on May 4th. Only 250 people would be allowed in at a time, overflow would have to wait in line for someone to leave. There would be no entry fee and no tags required but no fish would be stocked. (Word is, the hatcheries are busting at the seems?).

250 sounds like a lot? Whats a normal number for a Saturday during catch and keep season?

If the hatcheries are filled with fish, then why aren't there going to be any stockings. Seems strange to me.

Cut this out of an email I received from MDC today:

Daily trout tags, along with a fishing permit, unless exempt, will be required beginning May 16 for fishing at all four trout parks: Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon, Montauk State Park near Licking, Roaring River State Park near Cassville, and Maramec Spring Park near St. James.

MDC hatchery staff will resume stocking the parks on May 15 to provide angling opportunities prior to May 16. State Parks will begin to reopen retail operations in parks leading up to May 16.

Ya got me John. Some friends hit Cardiac Hill before all of the rain and did well on Browns. I was just wondering if the hatcheries have been stocking the White Ribbon streams and Taney that they normally do? I am guessing no since your not hearing much from the regulars. They better stock the streams up, the crowd will like the opener on the 16th

They stock less trout in Maryland throughout the entire state than those stocked in the trout parks on an annual basis  oh and they are smaller .

Before COVID I had several trips planned to fish.... I mean visit the kids/grandkid in MO and KS.
