mojorig Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 As of 10:42, today (5/12), the USACE is predicting Bull Shoals Lake to crest at 686.6 on the 18th. I suspect they will raise the crest some more after this rain event concludes next week. With that being said, it is going to take a lot more rain to get Bull to the top of flood pool. At this point, the storage capacity is at 68% even though there is only 10 feet left in the flood pool. mojorig Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 The National Weather Service has adjusted their predictions overnight. Here is a link to their site (LINK). This is the same information that KY3 reports. I still believe it going to take a multi-day heavy soaking rain to get the lake level on Bull Shoals Lake north of 690. However, my wife reminds me that I am wrong on a daily basis...which could easily be the case here too..😂 mixermarkb, Dewayne French, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 2 1 1 Jeremy Risley District Fisheries Supervisor AGFC Mountain Home Office - 1-877-425-7577 Email: Jeremy.Risley@agfc.ar.gov
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 13, 2020 Root Admin Posted May 13, 2020 Wow that's a big reduction in rain over last night. Hope the trend keeps going in that direction. But then there's always next week... It's going to get to the top of the pools at Table Rock by June I bet. Already there at Beaver. It all has to go somewhere... Glad Bull is fishing so well. Hope to get down there. mixermarkb 1
Bill Jr. Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I put in at Blue Water in Protem on 5/8 and didn’t see too many swimmers or tubers so I guess they were at lead hill lol. Hating the lake level but also going out with 37 degree temp in May. At least the fish were cooperating most of the time. will be down for memorial and hoping for top water all day so I come back with all my lures. Fish24/7 1
mojorig Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 As the lake level blew past 690 over the weekend, I could hear my wife in my head saying "See.... I told you that you were going to be wrong..." 😂😂 As of today (5/18), the USACE is predicting Bull Shoals Lake to peak at 691.5 on May 24th. Crazy thing is the remaining 3.5 ft makes up 12% of the flood storage for the reservoir.
