oneshot Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Well storms did major damage in the area and half our stuff didn’t work because some idiot decided to cut our funding. He came to the office and few around me read my mind and decided I didn’t really want to get close to him. If you have no Computers, no Phones and Sirens don’t work because an idiot goes with a cheaper system. So you can’t warn the public. Hey idiot there is a reason that system is cheaper! oneshot
fishinwrench Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I'm gonna side with the idiot here. Nobody needs to spend big tax money on storm warnings. The warnings are free. Sky gets dark, Clouds start acting crazy, Wind starts howling. Hail. I mean Jesus Christ, what more WARNING do you need? Duck and Cover, ya dumb asses! 😂 snagged in outlet 3 1
tjm Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 A town I used to do a lot of work in set them dang sirens off about every other day and people got to where they didn't even hear them, kinda like trains when you live near a track, it's just background noise. My kids all get warnings on them smarty phones and call me to tell me about them- I'm like wrench when the sky is falling and the wind is howling cover up, don't need somebody to tell me either. It's guberment taking care of people like a full time nanny that keeps humans from evolving, we need to let idiots be idiots and dummies be dummies until Darwinism has a chance to work. There oughta be a law banning guberment warnings about anything.
Terrierman Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Any excuse for the local weather guesser to take over the TV and see imaginary tornados on the radar machine. This last round they had to have told people get in your shelter now at least 20 times. How many tornados were there? None. I'm 68 years old and I've never actually seen a tornado. I suspect they actually do exist. Seen lots of damage. But as far as I know, it all could have been done by some angry wizard or something.
oneshot Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 Well just before Radar went down we had rotation. So turned the Sirens on. Nothing. We do a Test on Sirens once a month 10AM second Wednesday. Phones nothing. This guy even stopped shipment of supplies for Coronavirus. If we don’t have tools to work with why does the Government put out money for us. There is Millions just for our office but this guy don’t want to use any of it. I can understand waist but general operating tools that the community counts on is a little ridiculous. oneshot

Heard one yesterday telling people to get under their beds because a softball size hail stone would go right through the roof. I've seen some weird crap with storms but I can't remember ever hearing about a hail stone going through a roof with such impact that you need to hide under a bed. He's also the one that likes to tell everybody to put a helmet on while inside. As far as whether or not they exist, I've seen several. From a distance they are cool as hell. Right up close they suck.
Flysmallie Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Well as usual I am wrong. Apparently hail through the roof is a thing. https://youtu.be/rQ_4xxq-S-w

The insurance company even paid for new flooring due to hail damage INSIDE her house!!! Terrierman 1

Baseball size. What I didn't know was how hard it comes down. Like it was shot out of gun or something.
