A number of issues shortened my fishing year last year. A big issue delayed it this year. I went to the lake today to clean up the boat and test things. The first part went fine. The testing did not.

The Evinrude ETECH started on the first key turn. I love their motors. The troll motor fob would not function. I changed out its battery and still nothing. I took the foot pedal out of storage and plugged it in. Still nothing. At that point I used my engineering and technical skills. I decided the darn thing wasn't going to work. Later this week I will pull it out of the water and take for service. I wish I were still close to the shop in Springfield.

Despite the above I took the boat out and tried to fish as I once did 45 or 50 years ago. Since the lake was whitecapping, that did not work worth a darn, either. Every protected cove had at least one boat in it. I gave up before I had a single strike.

Water temp 65. Visibility 2-3 feet.

Did you check battery leads (clean & tight) and check to see if the breaker is tripped?

If you have a plug for the TM power then check for voltage at the plug (both sides).

Does the tm have a fuse in the head?   You might call Scott or Brad and ask what to check that hasn’t been mentioned.  They deal with that kind of stuff all day long.    414-833-9191

The TM shows a green light turned on and plugged in, therefore I believe it has power. I did not check voltage as I do not have the tool. Wrench, I am the ultimate can't do squat mechanic. Wasn't raised the right way, I guess.

You're a teacher, a rugby player/coach and a chef.  I'd trade any one of those for being able to fix a stupid trolling motor,

Me neither.  My dad was an accountant.  When something is you spray it with WD 40, hit it with a hammer or ask Jack next door.  He owned a gas station.  Old school with mechanics.  After that declare it broke.
@rps, did you run a YouTube search with your problem?  Sounds stupid but you never know.
