Less decisions to make when buying a boat comes to mind.

That really sux.  Could have bought my boat 100 times over with a merc, drove 400 miles one way to buy it lightly used with a G2, and it still has 7 years warranty left...good luck with that.

Wrench...you need to pick up some G1/G2 e-tec diagnostics, got 2 of them that'll need a mechanic sometime in the future.

Yep just mine a couple months ago with the 7 year warranty.  We'll see I guess.

It's really hard to imagine that Bombardier shareholders will allow the company to sit on the Evinrude brand.

That technology is worth a lot of money.  Surely some other corporate interest will come along with enough cash to buy it.

I'll have it when I need it.  So far I've been able to diagnose everything with the WINKY-BLINKY'S that are built into the EMM.

I ain't paying 4k just to tell you how many hours are on it, unless you don't mind paying 800.00 to know.  😅

The tach tells you that at start-up if you know what to look for.  Not down to the exact minute, but close enough to know if it's time for a 300hr servicing.

What do I look for?

If you have Evinrude gauges, not sure if it works the same with aftermarket stuff, or anything pre-ETEC for that matter... when you turn the key to the run position, but before you crank it - watch the tach needle - it will jump up to somewhere and stop - whatever rpm reading the tach needle lands on - that's close to the number of hours on your EMM.

My boat mech told me about that when I had it in for servicing over the winter.
