For stents, broken rods from dumpsters or creek side are a source. Maybe a cheap kids rod. You can search the web, I don't know of any commercial source off hand. Ask at your local fly shop for a rod builder near you, chances are there is one, most that I have know would do repairs. I found a link that kinda tells how to do it yourself- http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/rodrepair/

And https://www.instructables.com/id/Repairing-Fishing-Rods/

You can search for videos they are out there.

Seriously you might better buy that close out if they aren't already sold out. Bass Pro does list a "rod and reel repair"  section, you might call them.

I'd buy another then fix that one when I had time to kill. I like fixing things, but the fishing equipment is all meant to be disposable.

Buy a new rod. Don't try to fix the old one, and don't buy a cheap one like these other tight arses are recommending.

These are pretty darn good. I have a friend from Colorado that was just here and used one and he said it was equal to his $500 Sage.

Also it had this reel on it and he said it was as good as his $250 Sage reel. When you think about it what does a fly reel do? You strip line off and fish all day and then reel it back up when you are done. Sure if you hook a big one it will take drag, but I have never lost a big fish to a faulty drag on these.

Needless to say he ordered the rod and reel when he got home.

Get a new one and hang that one in your House. I let my sister have my first fly when my dad died.  We all stood around the table and took our turns picking from all the rods he had collected.    That rod was the first rod for all 4 of us.  White fiberglass and I’ll be darned if I can remember the brand.  Late 60’s.  If I had it, it would be above my fireplace.   As it is, it’s probably in her basement.

If it was white it was probably a Shakespeare Wonder Rod. I still have one from my Bennett Springs days in the early sixties.

Could be.  We were going there then.  I need to ask my sister about that rod.  Thx

I agree with what most of these guys are saying. Get yourself a new rod. But remember you don't need to spend $1,000 to get a quality setup. I have fished with those $1,000 rods and they are nice but they don't cast or fish any better than my what i own. I don't own the cheapest rods in the world but you won't see me with those ultra expensive ones either. Redington, Echo, and TFO all make quality gear.

Hey buddy,

If you insist on this current rod,

Take it to the bass pro rod and reel repair. If you can catch the head tec there you would be surprised what he may have in his repair stuff behind the counter or even on the rack cheap in the outlet that has been just retipped. Same model rod. Then you will have spare parts!

But like the others get yourself a new one and retire this one.. I like TFO too. Pat has three and I think I have four of that brand.
