Most fish taste like bread, grease and condiments unless you eat them raw.  People only eat them because it's a tradition to have a fish fry.

             Correct but if you get fish fillets that are thick there is a difference.  If it is a strong flavored fish like white bass I can tell also. We eat fish for taste no matter what they are. Canned tuna smells like cat food but we eat it in different forms.

The only way I'll eat canned tuna is straight from the can, anything you do to it just makes it taste worse.  I always thought the cat food smelled like tuna- but then I was growed up when I first smelled cat food and had been exposed to tuna for about  twenty five  years, so my frame of reference would be different if I'd smelled cat food first.

I agree that many people fry fish so that it all tastes the same. I disagree that you must eat it raw to taste the fish. Search this site for fishburger. Find my post and recipe. It will change your mind.

Oh, don't make it with talpia or swai. Use walleye, crappie, carefully trimmed white bass or hybrids, trout whose flesh has turned red, or cod. Better yet, use a combo.

I have eaten fish that was so heavily flavored it could have been carp.  Delicate or mild flavored fish like crappie need delicate hand with seasoning.  I have eaten crappie raw, small amount, might have been drinking beer, might have been a dare involved whatever, I sliced off a small thin slice from a fillet shook on a little slap ya mama and ate it, really wasn't bad, wasn't great, certainly didn't become my go to style for them but not as bad as I expected.  All in all I will take grilled or quick fried, personally I find many people over cook them in a fryer.
