Not really dogs, but the owners that fail to train them well.

I have been bit by dogs doing my essential duties in the last 2 month.  First was in May, she knew I was coming.  Had 4 large dogs in the house and a full glass front.  They were all chomping at the bit to get at me, she opened the door and they pushed her out of the way to get at me.  The black mutt lunged at me and I deflected with the forearm and jacket caught the bite.  It sit and growled at me while the rest of the stinking bunch rubbed all over me.  Judges wife.

Friday, friend of the boss.  Little white yep dog poodle bowed up at me in the yard as I approached.  "Don't worry, it don't bite."  It kept it up barking and as soon as I turned away the little bas turd nailed me in the calf.  "Bad Doggy, you apologize to him...."

I made a whole $26 bucks on that deal.

Thank God, I have been promoted to all commercial.  Dealing with the publick is about to cause a death murder kill incident.

I have to admit I'm not a dog person, which is probably sacrilege to many.  I've known a few good dogs, a bunch of dogs that were annoying to various degrees, and quite a few dogs I really didn't want to be anywhere near.  Haven't owned a dog since I was a kid and my mutt got run over by one of the local teenagers right in front of me--still remember the pool of blood growing around its crushed body.  Don't want to own a dog.

But it's the human owners that receive most of my ire.  Just because you love your dog doesn't mean everybody else will, especially if you've never trained it.  I endure some dogs simply because their owners are friends.  I have one relative that has two dogs, and I really like one of them and really DON'T like the other, and it has everything to do with the fact that the one I like was paid a lot more attention to in its early years than the other one.  Neither is a particularly bad dog, but the one that lacked attention is just hyper.

Some dog owners are like some parents.  They think their dogs are wonderful, and just can't understand that to others, the dogs are annoying or worse.

We have a Pyrennes Husky mix at the farm.   Nasty dog, stinks like death.  He will kill stuff onsite.  He can kill deer and other dogs.

But, he is gentle around everyone.  Don't even have to speak to him, he knows from a look or a sound.

I grew up around dogs and have had many, but none in the house.  Never have been bit by a dog until dealing with lap dogs.

Where you get into trouble is trying to be "polite" to the owner.   I treat all dogs like they belong to me, and have never had a problem with anyone's dog.   If they need to be kicked in the head then I just do it without waiting for the owner to "correct them".

I get immediate respect from all dogs.   I also don't hesitate to pet or play with a friendly one.  I love dogs.

I love dogs, but yes some owners drive me nuts. I know I will draw the ire of a bunch of people by saying this but some of the pit bull owners have a macho problem. They can say what they want to about how pit bulls are friendly and it’s all about the training. All I can say is when I was looking for a new quote for Homeowners insurance they specifically asked me if I owned a pit bull. To me that says enough.

Yeah, of all the breeds to choose from, pitbulls are the choice of all the crackheads around here.  I don't have a problem with them except for the fact that I can't let MY DOG get around them.

I couldn't care less if my Lab scraps with a Shepherd, Doberman, or another Lab, the worst that can happen is a torn ear or something.....But I don't want him fighting a pitbull, because they don't play by the same rules. Pitbulls will go for death with other dogs.

Crappy dogs have special protection Mo. because the Old Drum case Burden v. Hornsby

I've been around working and hunting dogs all my life and a good dog is a treasure, rare as can be too. Pet dogs are nothing but aggravation to every one, the people that keep any animal as a pet  are beyond my understanding and most don't have any idea of how to train an animal. When a dog bites someone the owner should have to pay restitution and undergo psychiatric treatment before being allowed another pet.  Biting dogs should be euthanized after the first time.

I somewhat agree, even though I have a "pet".  Orion doesn't hunt, and he really doesn't work either.  He does do a pretty good job of keeping an eye on everybody's boats around here, and he entertains customers so he gets a pass. 😊

I did have to dock him a day's pay for sleeping on the job last week when the coons had a RedBull party in one of my customers pontoons.

Usually he keeps a close eye on things around here.IMG_20181014_143606118~2.jpg

I don't like kids either....unless they are working and being somewhat productive.   Which is even more rare than a good dog!

Pretty much how I do it.  Dogs are seldom a problem, there owners, well that is usually where the problem lies.  I live out of town so wandering dogs are a normal thing.  The German Shepard I used to have would keep them run out of the yard, ever the current yard retard used to be pretty good at that, but she is too old now.  Soon will need another one.  I have ben bitten before, usually either by little dogs in campgrounds running loose (note they will go a ways if you time your kick properly and get a full stride first) or large dogs that I either ignored their warning or played too rough with, just a hazard of being me, I wouldn't have it any other way.  Some things will NOT be tolerated such as chasing livestock or growling at a kid, either one shifts gears into "nope I have seen your dog, why".
