Members Jaxfishn Posted August 4, 2020 Members Posted August 4, 2020 Quillback, I saw you're a Bella VIsta guy. Me too. Been looking for someone to give me some pointers on Beaver. Its WAAAAAY big out there!!! I've read everything in the forums that I could find, and watch for videos, etc on how to fish Beaver. Got some vague general ideas, but nothing very specific. Looking to hook up with a local guy who can point me in the right direction. I will definitely keep my eye on this forum, but want to take it to the next level, with some on-the-water instructions, perhaps. Not looking to steal anyones honey holes, just want some idea of general spots, seasonal areas, techniques, etc. I'd be happy to pay for gas and bait to help ease the financial burden!!!! I own a boat myself, so that is an option as well. Any other BV guys that I could hook up with? Pls give me your thoughts on how to better learn the lake. Thanks a boatload!! Jack

Jack Quillback is likely a better source for info, but my advice is to pick and area of the lake you’re comfortable with for water clarity and depth (up rivers, mid-lake or dam) and just spend time out there breaking it down. Don’t get overwhelmed by the size. Just focus on one area at a time. It’s a process. bfishn 1
Quillback Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 Yes, what Bassmeister says, you've just got to get out there, that being said, for me personally August and September are usually very tough months on Beaver, I probably won't be out on it again until late September at the earliest. Jaxfishin - there was a good bite in the larger BV lakes on Keitechs a couple of weeks ago which was the last time I was out. 3.3 Keitechs on 1/4 oz heads, mid lake areas. Get out at daybreak and look for fish chasing shad on top, toss the Keitech at them or you can slow troll them too.
Members Jaxfishn Posted August 5, 2020 Members Posted August 5, 2020 Thanks to Bassmeister and Quillback for their suggestions. I have a bit of previous experience up around Rocky Branch, so that would seem to be as good a place to start as any. Thanks again, fellas. Bassmeister 1
wily Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Rambo creek area is good near rocky branch...used to catch a bonus striper back there where it hairpins. right out in front of rocky branch...around that island on the east side...you’ll see the stripers busting on top too i always thought ventris would be a good area too...and might be a closer spot to splash the boat in Jaxfishn 1
curtisce Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 @BilletHead and I got into some hybrids on Spring river this year. I kept several. They were much better eating than WB. I wouldn't blame anyone for keeping their limit of them or stripers. Good Job. You say there's a fall bite. Perhaps you could educate me and Marty. Marty will probably bring a flimsy stick😆 BilletHead 1 The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check

If Marty can get one on the fly rod, well that would be awesome. @BilletHead @curtisce BilletHead 1
