oneshot 1 Posted August 16, 2020 Author Posted August 16, 2020 Use to be you didn't call anyone Good Buddy. Use to be many years ago when I drove Truck it was Mama's Toy but most didn't hear it as that. When I had a Base I had a Rooster Crowing so everyone knew when I got on. Heck get a skip I could talk with someone miles away. I got a CB I'm wanting to hook up. Things were different around there. Had a woman tell me one time she didn't like a Guy asked if I would burn his house. I turned her down. Week later his house burnt. Was at Church some women was talking about one of my neighbors shooting down a Forestry Plane. I said to them he shot at it? No he shot it down. Poaching, Arson, Stock Killing none of it was anybody else business and you dang sure didn't call no law. I was told make sure I was Packing which I always did. After awhile most considered me crazy because of people in my family and left me alone. oneshot

Members lorenshaws Posted September 27, 2024 Members Posted September 27, 2024 The 38-mile range on walkie-talkies is usually based on ideal conditions, which might not match real-world scenarios. Just curious if you’ve had any luck since this post?
Members MikeKaya Posted September 27, 2024 Members Posted September 27, 2024 I noticed this is an older post, but I wanted to share my experience. I looked into this a while back too. The advertised 38-mile range on walkie talkies often doesn’t hold up in real-world conditions with obstacles like hills and trees. I tried a set of Motorola two way radios, and they worked well in all areas, even where cell phones had no signal. They were reliable for communicating over distances where my cell phone wouldn’t work, especially in places with heavy tree cover or remote spots. If you’re looking to stay connected where cell service is spotty, these two way radios might be a good option to consider. snagged in outlet 3 and yowoodchuck 2
