I have some Jugs but don’t think I have enough line on them.

Found with the Turkey Lung floating just off the bottom I caught Blues

The guy I was watching uses a float to get his bait off the bottom. He would fillet Perch take piece off each side and head.

Bait thinking cut bait, Shrimp, Chicken Liver and Sonny’s.

Couple guys did comparison between Cut Bait and Chicken Liver and found Chicken Liver did better but had one say Sonny’s out fishes all. Me I’m thinking go with what you have and hope the fish want it. I have used Worms but found I catch about 50% Carp.

Just go ahead and allow DHS to document the vessel, they'll issue you a card for fuel and maintenance.  In the event of a disaster it will be ready for them if they need it.  In the meantime.....Go Fishing in it.

No licensing fees, and no property tax due.

Funny they have Jet Drive Boats and found out fast in Flooding conditions their not worth a crap. LOL So they come to me with my Old Boat. Paid well for my time and Boat. Some times the Top people don't use their Grey Matter.

If by chance I go out of state I'm paid well.

I've never tried anything that beats a good dip bait, on the bottom, for Channel cat.   If you're not getting bites in 10-15 minutes then you just need to move.  If they are nearby they'll definitely find and eat it.

Dip bait worm color does matter too.  I've never done well with the yellow or orange ones.  Red, Black, or White.

I bought Sonny's from SSS right after they started making it. Thing is they didn't have Small Tubs so I bought 20 pounds. Might do awhile. LOL

Oh bought couple hundred Yellow Worms, so using them. Been doing pretty good.

The hooks on all of those dipbait worms are junk. So is the line they use (too short and too heavy).   I use the loop to pull 2' of good (lighter 14#) line through the worm, and add a much better hook.    Leave just enough sag in the line that they can pick it up and move a bit before feeling any resistance.   3/4oz. egg sinker does fine in areas with not much current.    I like a 20# hi-vis main line.

About half of them get the hook too deep, so I just slide the worm up, cut it off and tie on a new hook.  You can reclaim your hooks when you clean the fish.

I switched to all 14 pound test Line. Forget what size Hooks but bought them in bulk. use 3/8oz. Egg Sinker. Because I have a bunch of them Sinkers.

Line must work I pulled in a huge Turtle other day with it.
