Dutch Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Several times there has been a bait that I really liked and when a big company took over the bait went away. A few years ago I was cow killing them on a Terminator double bladed buzz bait. Rapala sucked them up and no more bait for me. Now it is Pradco buying out War Eagle and discontinuing the bleeding shad. I bought up all of the baits and replacement skirts that I could get. I looked all over the web but no more are available so I went to one of my favorite places fishingskirts.com and bought a couple of hundred dalmatian red and chartreuse skirts. So Peadco can take a hike. Mine is the one with the regular head. I don’t have access to the Screaming Eagle head. snagged in outlet 3 and nomolites 2
nomolites Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 You did well. I dislike Pradco a lot for that reason. I’ve spent a good deal of time doing the same(searching, but for different lures or components), especially since COVID. I’ve had a habit for a number of years of staying well stocked or I’d really be mad with current availability .... Mike
Quillback Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 When they bought Norman that was the death knell of the green pumpkin and watermelon colors I like on Deep Little N's.
fishinwrench Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 You know they'll up the wire size on War Eagles, and they'll "fix" the head where it doesn't come loose and start wobbling. They are clueless as to what made the bait what it is (was). I always kinda thought they needed better hooks....but truthfully I never missed bites or lost fish because of their hooks. Broke several wires but only because I didn't retire the bait when I should have.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I use the War Eagle extreme with the big Trokar hook now. Had good luck with them so far

It was a great spinnerbait.
rps Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 In 2010 I had Hughes paint some Norman Top Dollars for me. I gave two away, one to a friend and one as a thank you. Two or three went away with nice fish that found timber. Another two found overhanging trees and I could not reach them. (The things sometimes fly in strange directions.) I busted one when I hit a bluff wall. I am down to three, I think, and dread the time when I will have none. Pradco is pond scum.
