I bought an aluminum canoe through Al.  The canoe was more than fair priced, and good shape.  I believe he is more of a critic than most.  That being said, I would trust his assessment, and offer a price.   I'm just not wanting a tandem canoe. Gave the other to the stream team.  It works great.

'how much you want?' - "make an offer" - 'one dollar' - "oh no, this is worth $5000" - 'well, why didn't you say that in the beginning?'

A while back I had a Penobscot 16 with the wood trim, it was a sweet boat. You may still have a chance to pick this one up, my truck rack is toast and I don't think I'm up throwing canoes over my head any more. Does anyone have a recommendation for a canoe trailer?

I know where there's some jet ski trailers cheap, we could do 2 canoe trailers in a day.

Thanks Bob, I might take you up on that.
