Stick a paddle in the water to see what 4" looks like on that river and that day. I think you talked about this before @fishinwrench. It's a lot easier to tell at noon than it is at day break... Trust me😁 For sure it is. The marsh is way easier with a jet boat. If there is any breeze I can run anywhere there is ripples. snagged in outlet 3 1 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 It measures 1.5”. The change in color above that is where it drafts. 4” almost exactly. I know the 4” mark is correct because my son measured it in the water with me on the front deck. nomolites and gotmuddy 2

One it raises the motor above the bottom of the boat. Second and most importantly, it funnels water to the jet. Coupled with the pods the water stays "compressed" further out of the tunnel. Will it run shallower than other jet boats, that I don't know, but it will run plenty shallow for me. That is why then. The good water to the jet foot means alot. The vortex in the impeller is pretty sketchy, any bubbles off a dent in the bottom of a flat boat, leaf, rock, stick, can mess up the vortex and lose power. We went over a log on the 11 Pt one time and put a small dent under the boat in front of the motor. That messed up the flow of water back to the impeller and we had to limp back home. Barely. Don't remember, but I am the owner of that boat now. Took it over in Dec. Been doing a few things too it this winter. Will probably replace the hull part this summer. I was very careful when building the pods/tunnel to keep that issue to a minimum. So far so good. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
