Fished from 10-3.  Just moved down here this week so my reports will be from this end mostly.   WT 53, had 2 bites today. One on jerkbait just pushed it sideways and 3+ smallie on ned.  Tried to find a deep bite but I don't know stay I'm doing,  found some shad but really nothing with them.   I went to creeks looking didn't look main lake babe no idea where to start.   Tried cranking like I did at shell knob last week but with little wind didn't happen.   Oh well. I'll just keep throwing at them.   Good luck when you go.

Wasn't much better up the kings river either.  2pm-dark thirty.  3 bites boated 1 14incher.  Judging by livescope there is endless supply of shad have to be around them when active. Had 2 knock slack on a spoon over 70 feet but we're sitting in open water, no trees  hanging around the shad. Tried damiki wouldn't touch it fell too slow need to down size line to 6lb line this boy doesn't do that, may have to learn by fire!  I enjoy the livescope to see how the fish react you can tell pretty quickly if they have seen a color or not it's incredible! As good as the graphs are they still don't tell you if they are going to bite or not! It's still fishing making adjustments is the difference. Happy Holidays everyone!

Still fishing the creek gut and the roll off to the gut.  The decent bite does not start until 4:30pm and ends 30 minutes later.  Fish all getting smaller with each day.  I'm wondering if the early morning bite would be better but too cold.

Yeah the early morning cold keeps me away too.  Looks like a bit of a warm-up next couple of days so I might get out and give them a shot.

I really struggled for 2 hrs. Day before yesterday finding them. Haven't heard much from Dock it this season, hope he is well. He is a great sounding board for the KC area.

Fish,  there have been deep fish here on the main lake on some of the flat gravel but by deep, I mean DEEP!!  and totally unreliable.

Point 10 and up in the James, point 19 and up on the White and 5 miles either way from Schooner in seasonal locations, but the shad keep moving so they are there and gone and for sure not everywhere

Talked to Pete for a minute and said he can catch them one day and totally lose them the next

When the shad move to the main lake they are going deeper. 80' to 120'+. I'm not seeing many fish on them till they get 70' and under. I've had some good trips but I've had to put in a bunch of search time with the rod on the deck just staring at the HDS 12

On another note, no deep cut is to small to check. It does not have to be a major creek arm. If that cut has 50'+  in the gut, give her a peek

Good Luck

Yes, Dock was a great source of info last year about this time.

Yes, I found them is a really short creek going into a very big creek about a week ago.  Without a map you might have called it a pocket.

Bill, hadn't seen a post from you in a long time - glad to hear form you and hoping all is well.
