Christmas weekend report

Got out yesterday and went again today.  I only went today because I had nothing else to do.  Water temp 36 with floating ice in the river.  Nada bite.

Almost time to pack the tent, load the canoe,  and go trout fishing.. Not quite cold enough yet.

Well it's still better than sitting in the house.

Interesting that there was ice floating on the river. We never see that on the tailwaters since they are pretty much constant temperature..

You’re right.  I can’t stand sitting around the house.  I knew today would suck but I went anyway.  Well I thought the overcast skies and breezy conditions might buy me a bite.  That’s all I could think about.  Boy I wish I was on Taney, white or norfork.

You and me both Pete! There are so few spring fed creeks/rivers and I haven't found a tailwater here in MD that compares to those that you mentioned. I hope that COVID gets to a point that I won't be quarantined after a quick trip to MO/AR for a trout fix .

Though I did catch a few sunfish today. Felt good to release a fish.

I wanted to go down to Branson for the past 5 days but my youngest daughter was coming home and her and mom wanted to stay here.  Plus we had my mother in law here.  I got outvoted needless to say😂

Mother in law went home today.  Daughter gone again in two weeks.   Then!   I’m back baby!!!!
