Wow, after reading all this I am amazed at how many minnow species there are in the rivers up here.

Back in south Texas we had mullet and mud minnows (killifish) and that was about it... but then maybe there is multiple species of the killifish???

Yes there are multiple species of killifish or topminnows in that part of Texas. You probably have seen gulf killifish which are very common. Maybe some golden killifish. Those mummichogs that Livie and I caught are the first killifish species we've caught this year but more will come.

Ham will have a few more after his northern studfish.

Cool... nice to know. I always went out with the castnet during flounder season and the mud minnows were the "flounder candy". Never knew there were multiple species.

(FND14) Black Bullhead (Longhornica poutus):

Went out for an hour last night in the drizzle, caught 4 bullheads by sightfishing muddy water with a fly rod.

Big wide head on this one:

52) Freshwater Drum :  I was hosted by Les yesterday in Waldo's sister boat Gracee. @BilletHead was close by in his boat with his better half Pat.
we found a lot more than a few willing biters.
my hands are destroyed.

Ill let them speak to location or not, but man, I wish I could fish there more often.
