Some nice looking fish buddy. I have this dream that you and I will be able to fish together on a regular basis sometime down the road. I will fish there again. maybe soon. I need to work out a few more details on those Red Spotted Sunfish. I want to see if that was a needle in a haystack deal or what. I need to get a few more species on the fly rod too. I should be able to quickly add RBT and maybe BT. I think I might have a shot at Golden shiners there too. If anyone wants to help a brother out with a Golden Shiner spot, I'm all ears. I will tweak the rods I carry and the way I spend my time there. Still want the 50 burger, but I won't fool with the Bass next time. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. I may have to hit it with a boat one time myself Somehow, I had ZERO clue it was there. I mean NO clue at all or I would have fished there a decade ago. gotmuddy Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 I haven't fished there in probably a decade. I always thought it was neat because its basically the same temperature year round, and it has decent current all the time. I have only fished it by boat once though. I'd like to do the Lassiter Access with a 4 Weight flyrod and waders some time. There looks to be plenty to fish for a day there. Lots of grass do it will fish like pocket water. I do wish it was a little closer, but do be it. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
netboy Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Glad AGFC started stocking the area above Dam 3 again. They quit stocking the entire area in 2015 after the IPN (Infectious pancreatic necrosis) outbreak in the hatchery. They were afraid that fish stocked upstream of Dam 3 could recontaminate the hatchery with the disease. They were able to purchase trout that were certified IPN free and started stocking the area again in May 2020. Ham 1

I don't have enough decades left to keep missing opportunities like that, Looking back at Oct 2019, I did fish that access after leaving your place and heading to Poplar Bluff. I caught mosquitofish and blackspotted TM in the small pond next to the train tracks. Also bleeding shiners next to the boat ramp.

Dunked there many times. Years ago, Lassiter's was a pay access to cut across the guys field to fish there. Had to watch out for the bull he kept around there. The area above Cold Springs on the west side had a canoe rental place there and a campground. We stayed there a time or two, but it went out of business. The store bldg was still there and a few of the old aluminum canoes last time I cut thru there. The rickety old stone bridge across the river is a wonderful ride. There was a shop there between the road and the boat ramp that had a small pond behind it. It did not last long.
