In order to move things along faster with my pontoon boat resurrection, I'm going to lay down some cheap outdoor carpet onto the aluminum deck.  That way I can research and decide what I really want, long-term, during the summer.  What would you recommend for an adhesive?  Since this will be temporary (probably replacing it after summer?), would you recommend just applying at the edges/seams in order to make taking it up easier later or going ahead and doing the whole surface?

If you truly think you'll be taking it back up shortly then just lightly glue and trap it under the side rails only.  Gorilla glue works and isn't too hard to scrape off later.

For permanent application I use Henry's Outdoor carpet glue, applied with an old miter saw blade.

Don't try to glue marine carpet unless it is 75°-80°+ .   110° in the shade is even better. 😅

If you don’t have the carpet yet, you might find what you want at Thrifty Carpet on Kansas in Springfield, just north of Chestnut Expressway.

No THIS is Seadeck  IMG_20200712_185336122~2.jpg

And yeah it is awesome.  Best floor covering ever for a fishing boat or a pontoon IMO.

You can't wrap a rounded hatch lid with it though, or I'd do my bassboat with it.

Just south of Mueller?  But on the other side, I think.   Thanks, Dutch, I'll try them.

Fishinwrench, that's the stuff that's got me thinking of waiting to see what my uses are going to be with this boat.  You showed me that when I picked up the motor.  It's either that or the nice woven wool (?) carpet I've seen at bass pro on their in-store models.  I don't want to make a decision on deck cover before I really know what this boat is going to be used for.

Made a pitstop on the way back home from your place in Lebanon and had someone ask me about "that brush boat" I was hauling.  Same thing not too many days ago when I pulled it out to work on it outside.  So, it might be used for that, too.

Yeah I only had about 64 guys ask me if it was for sale while it was sitting here. 😅

3M 90 or Super 77. Both will work, but I like 90 more for carpet, it's a lot stringier than 77.

Cut your piece, spray both sides, wait till it dries enough for it to not stick to your fingers, and slap them together.

I used the 90 yesterday to fix some spots where the carpet was coming up on my boat. I've also used the traditional contact cement that you paint on with good success too. The spray can is far more convenient though.
