eyedabassman Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on the Force! Can any Force owners give me any pros or cons?
fishinwrench Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 The Pros:. They are simple in design, easy to troubleshoot, easy to repair, and are actually pretty reliable if you maintain them well and don't try to overwork them. The Cons:. As with all things associated with Mercury Marine, many parts are NLA (no longer available), and the parts that are still available are 3x more expensive than they have any business being. The only TRUE P.O.S. was the 5 cylinder inline 150 (avoid those basturds like the plague) The 2, 3, and 4 cylinder Force motors are a tad low on power.....but they will push a boat until you can save up enough for something better.
Maverickpro201 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I think he might be talking Trolling motor Garmin Force. The Garmin Force, We finally got it out this weekend. Love the trolling motor. Pedal takes just a little bit to get use to, as it is more responsive. You have to program thru the remote for spot lock to work, but it is self explained thru the process. Speed is good on 10. as it is on all speeds. We ran mostly on #3 bar. We have garmin 106 connected to it with livescope, programed the livescope compass also. Very happy with the trolling motor. If I had to buy a trolling motor again it would be a force. snagged in outlet 3, nomolites and MOstreamer 3

Sorry my fault. Yes I was asking about the Trolling motor.
Members Jhenson86 Posted March 23, 2021 Members Posted March 23, 2021 I have the force trolling motor on a z-8 nitro. Maybe someone can help me out. I unlike others at this point would not recommend this trolling motor over the ultrex. The spot lock on the garmin Is awful in my experience. Does anyone else have issues with the motor drifting back 5-6 feet Anytime you anchor on a position? Regardless of wind? It also seems as it never stops moving the boat around and never on the spot that I originally engaged the anchor. It also doesn’t seem nearly as easy to navigate to and anchor on a waypoint as the ultrex was.

Members Jhenson86 Posted March 23, 2021 Members Posted March 23, 2021 I recalibrated and no difference. I had the ultrex wish I would have kept it. The boat had garmin graphs and I wanted it to all be connected. snagged in outlet 3 1

fishinwrench Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 That whole... Not being able to lift it up to get out of a shallow snag... would be a deal breaker for me. What are you supposed to do, carry a push pole?
