Well you're kinda wrong.   The OTHER way to make money by posting videos is to have a company SPONSOR you.    

MEC doesn't care if I only have 2 followers (you and my wife), as long as there's a way for them to catalog and link to the videos.

Well if you want to make chump change you are right. Good luck with that. I did it for a few years kind of like you are talking about. I created training videos and was paid a decent wage. Meanwhile there’s folks making hundreds of thousands of dollars creating videos for the masses on YouTube. Photographers making six figures on gear review videos. Ladies with housecleaning videos making 300k a year with a team of people helping her. If you have to put in the time you should be the one getting the most benefit.

I don't know about that.   I know a guy with 540k+ followers and he ain't anywhere near considering quitting his 18.00/hr. job.   

 

Stu has 180k+ followers...and he makes more from MEC than he does from YT.

I guess it all depends on what it is. IF something works just as good and its cheaper its a no brainer. Ive always thought Rock Crawlers are way over priced for a crank that gets hung on everything. And really a RC is just a knock off deeper diving wiggle wart.

well, an RC was designed to be a deeper diving Wiggle Wart. It’s not a knock off. I consider a knock off an exact replica.

It's not the shooting that hinders the process, it's the editing and putting together a video that, when finished and posted, doesn't give everyone a headache.  Or put them to sleep.
