As Randy said above you can still use the handheld remote if the foot pedal fails but Merc is correct in that there are lots of electronics in the Force and like trollers that can let you down.

No transducer, spot lock, etc. Just a plain old cable steer motor. Flysmallie 1
fozzype Posted April 18, 2021 Author Posted April 18, 2021 I thought I might get a few replies based on the topic. A few thoughts: 1. No t-motor is perfect and no one makes junk. 2. With technology, brushless motor, built in features, effortless steering, etc there is more to break/fail. 3. Garmin customer service is the only reason I woul try year model number one. They are the best I have ever dealt with. 4. The garmin motor will fly..it is fast! 5. No interference and very quite is really, really nice! 6. Really like idea of motorguide, but 4 and 5 above are really, really nice and motorguide is just same old 1985 cables and electric motor. But I have used it for years and it rarely failed. I would like to try one sometime. dtrs5kprs, snagged in outlet 3 and bobby b. 3 B. Foz

The cables don't like to be operated backwards without tension on the pedal. That may be a "tensioner" issue..... but who would want a foot pedal with no tensioner adjustment? And who the hell is going to back off the tensioner every time they want to initiate spot-lock? Not sure what the FIX is.....but it is something that needs to be fixed. dtrs5kprs 1
