Crappie was not good yesterday in Rainey for us. Again probably 30 plus shorts with 5 keeps. Got to be 11 inches or better or we toss them back.
Wind was simply terrible and hard to fish the Spider or for that matter any light line process.
Lots of folks dock hopping and walking docks.
Got close to an inch of snow here now and it’s coming down hard. We’re in front of the fire today

Good Luck

The boys in the big Buffalo area had quite a day of it.   Unless they are fibbing (quite possible) 🤔

We ended up with a couple limits.  But had to leave Rainey to do it.  About dark they moved in shallow, some nice ones and lots of shorts.  Dang near froze after the wind changed to the north.  Nearly everything we caught were males, some with pretty beat up tails, next week should be awesome.

I don’t know where on LOZ or how or how many guys, but I got a text from a friend who said he cleaned 170 crappie last week.

The females are normally suspended in the middle of the spawning coves at half depth right now( i.e. 20’ in 40fow) and you can crank them up with bright colored bandits, warts, flicker minnows and the like.  As earlier stated they move in late in the day and back out when sun come up.  I will be doing my own research this weekend, but that pattern is normally solid from early April into June.

Lots of females on the banks last weekend.  Morning-Noon-Night didn't matter.  Consistent bite all day long.  Water temp 58-60.  Chartreuse/purple was the hot color.
