Mahseer are certainly more rare and much harder to get to.  Still...it has a nice ring to it, and might even bring more much needed conservation attention to Mahseer, because certainly folks around here don't give them much thought.

Bonefish are in a class by themselves too, I suppose.

There are worse comparisons...look at the similarities!

I love the push, but big difference to me is whether you have to wash your hands, clothes, rod, etc. after catching a masheer 😅!

Seriously the masheer has the mouth of a predator. They look more like a tarpon/snook hybrid or a carp with the head of a barramundi.

The Grassies in this creek seem to be the top predator.  They turn and chase down the fly.  Ask @Ham ! 😄

I'm glad you all think so highly of the Mahseer.  Sounds like exactly the kind of comparison the Grass Carp needs.  Missouri Mahseer.  I still like it.  I know, deep down, maybe way way WAY deep down....you really love it too. 🥰

Or how about "Goliath Grass Grouper?"  Huh?  C'mon!!

Pruning Permit?  Missouri Missile? Finned Phantom? Silver Torpedo? Ozark Amur? oooohhh..."Veg Vacuum"?
