I will add that I have occasionally had trouble with line twist an straight flouro on spinning reels, and only run that way on my lightest rigs with 2-4# test and carry a spool of line “in case”.

I routinely pull the line out and walk it out in the yard and reel it back on.   Grass does a wonderful job of removing twist just like water.

You can also run it through a book as you reel it back.  Phone books were great for this application.

It's pretty rare for me, I think it must be how it originally goes on. I want to buy one of those fancy line spool things but I always find something else to spend money on. After all I only put line on ever 5 years or so😁

I put the line on then immediately pull it all off by walking it out through a couple yards then reel it back on.

The Pitzen knot is probably my favorite, since it's easy to tie, incredibly strong, and doesn't waste much line. But I had a 50% failure rate when I pull tight on fluoro- the knots that held were still fantastic, but half of them didn't hold.

Enter the double Pitzen, courtesy of Shaw Grigsby. Loop of line through the eye, pull up and pinch another loop at the top and wrap three twists down towards the hook, put the first loop up through the second loop, wet, pull tight, cinch down, trim tags. It's unbelievable, and it's a lot easier than a Palomar, especially on big baits.

And if you leave enough tag, it works great for drop shotting, too- just pass the single tag through the eye of the hook, add a weight.

WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk.

Time spent fishing is never wasted.

Trilene knot, most of the time with Seaguar.

Occasionally a "fishing fool" knot, if there's some reason not to use a Trilene...drop shot, for example. It works just like a Palomar for that, and I trust it more.

I'm pretty much Palomar or San Diego Jam Knot. Palomar I always have a very long tag end but I always use it with braid. Fly tippet I use clinch knot or no-slip loop.

The Pitzen is similar to the SDJ with the same strength and faster to tie if you let the bait swing making the wraps.  I use it on everything except Arigs.
