If so, it's unbelievably foolish, and you can bet I'll be writing. More than anything, I value Bennett Spring for what it offers kids and families. A permanent loss of the pool would be an outrage. I have no dog in this fight since I have never stayed at the park or been to its pool. I just fish the park. I would imagine the upkeep costs especially with an old pool must be pretty high. I would think that liability risk is a much greater concern.

They said it was leaking. Now they are taking it out. That was another thing they brought up at the meeting. They was going to do away with the Bridge and Pool. They quit Hillbilly Days down there because Dallas County was wanting money but Jim’s wife didn’t like Renaissance because the Guys were showing too much skin. Speaking of Jim how does he get underbidded and still get it? oneshot

Why couldn’t they have done something heavier and better at the Wooden Bridge? Thing is it is a State Park take care of it for the people of Missouri. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr 1

I just composed a quick letter. Let us know how the meeting goes. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

If it is strictly Park, campground related I agree. What I've been told is the hatchery and the fish/stream management is MDC, the Park management is said to a cooperative effort between the two agencies. Which is likely why there are complaints, each agency blames the other. Complaints I read seem to revolve around the hatchery and fish. But Sara used to run DNR too, so she may be entirely to blame if the down hill trend is several years in the making?

I’ve known people under bid him and still lose the contract. He is like so many in this area you just don’t bring problems to them because they know better than you. I was visiting with the Sheriff before he was elected. I was told not to speak with him because he wasn’t one of us. I’ve been known to be outspoken. One time I told MDC Agent about harassing me out Camping. He was honest he told me people catch the wind right they would step back in the brush and cook Meth. MDC has let me slide on things. One time I was cutting Firewood in the wrong area, cut me a road back there. They stopped and looked and didn’t say a word until next Spring. oneshot

I remember as a kid swimming in one section of the river where it's allowed. It was a long time ago, but I don't recall a pool. They do still allow swimming that section of the river, at least based on some recent reading of park rules.
