Hey Team,

I always seem to get good feedback from this group so I'm asking another rod question...i have a light and ultralight setup that i like for jigging panfish and trout, i have a couple of medium light setups for different jerkbait applications and I'm looking to add a medium action setup to throw weighted worms and smaller bass jigs as well as maybe throwing larger jigs when targeting walleye specifically.

I will likely stick with St Croix since I really like the 2 avids I have and Ive heard good things about the eyecon series. Any feedback specifically on fast vs. Extra fast?

Thanks!

I'm kind of a cheap-posterior, and am very partial to the Berkley lightning rod 6'6" medium 1 piece. I think they are a wonderful multi-purpose rod, for throwing 1/16 oz jigs for crappie, to 1/8 oz walleye jigs and cranks. They are a little bit too fast in the tip for things much heavier than that though.

What length of rod are you wanting?  Why not stick with Avid since you like them?  What reel are you pairing with the rod?

Me too ! 6' 6" med fast I love mine. I have 2, if I brake one I will cry. $50 or so. I really don't know what you get for the extra $90?

I still have this Berkley lightening rod. I am using a 1/2 oz spoon. I like the way this rod loads up.

$39.99 at Bass Pro. I've seen them at some Walmarts too, but not many. They mostly carry the casting version, I have one of those too and like it just as much.

Love my MF St croix rod with a Pfleuger President, has accounted for many a walleye, white bass, and creek bass.

I had a brief affair with XF rods. I got over it. I'm nippier with Fast rods.

I have a couple of medium rods I like. Look at the St Croix Eyecon series. There is one for jigging. Big fan.

I have a couple of Cara Medium spinning rods. They can put a lot of heat on a fish
