MNtransplant Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Howdy everybody, I am headed up to stay in the Mermaid Cove Marina and RV resort this weekend with my family and wanted to see if anyone has info to share as far as fishing prospects in that area? I might have some time in the mornings to sneak out before everyone is awake and throw some topwater from the bank/docks or I might see if there are any docks to fish from with my 4 year old and his snoopy rod to catch some panfish. Any info is appreciated! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
fishinwrench Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 From there to the dam is where 80% of the tournaments are being won right now. There are bass near 12-25' brush piles, there are bass suspended under big condo docks, and there are bass in the very backends of coves hiding under anything they can find to hide under. Bushbeater Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Those big blue cats would be fun on a snoopy rod. Hang on tight cause they're biting. MNtransplant, bfishn, BilletHead and 1 other 3 1

Thanks fot the reply...it looks like the place we're staying has a courtesy dock and some slips...any advice on what to throw around docks? Topwater, wacky, jig, or something different?
fishinwrench Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Rig these with a 1/8 - 3/16oz. weight and pay close attention to bites as it falls on a semi-tight line. No bite?....reel it in and pitch it 10 feet away.....rinse and repeat. Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 2
