You know that after catching (or trying to 😏) those brookies, attention would have been on what darters are in those creeks 😉. I need to get myself and the family up that way. Looks like a place that we would enjoy a lot.

Yes you do and no I don't right now. Incidental by catch is fine and I like it and do get excited about it as I do every fish on the fly rod.  Not in my wheelhouse right now other goals to make but who knows I might try on purpose someday like some others I know!

It is a dying breed really. Scott used to know one there out of Winona I think he told me when I first met him. Wish I could get that foreigner to join and tell us more.

Seems like they were getting something like 15 cents a pound for carp and buffalo, you have to catch a lot of fish to make any money at that rate.   Now I may be remembering wrong, but it wasn't much that they were getting.

As a kid in north Missouri, I took full advantage of the "drift" available on the creek and river sandbars, collecting Lake Superior agates, petrified wood, etc. Somehow "driftless" sounds like a casino buffet with no prime rib to me.

I can't dance like I used to.
