LittleRedFisherman Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 The boys first stop on the Arkansas youth bass nation trail was on table rock this weekend! None of us had ever been on this lake so we were anxious to see if we could figure things out! It worked out here at work to where we could get up there about noon Saturday and practice, turns out none of us caught a single fish as I was hung up on deep water looking for the bass. So when we launch yesterday morning I was as confused as ever As to what they should do… So I said boys tie you on a top water bait And we’re going to hit coves and look for the shallowest water we can. They were only getting about a good bite every hour to hour and a half but they stuck it out all day and brought in some decent fish I was very proud of them. As their boat captain I made a rookie mistake or something like that as I was sitting and watching and I guess bored, Open the live well as I was seeing how that oxygenator was working in the Vexus. I was admiring how it was working and at that time they had two bass in there, Anyhow a two pounder in there got startled and rocketed against my arm used it like a ramp and launched right out the side of the boat, needless to say I was pretty mortified about it LOL! My son was mad at me for maybe 2 minutes, Then he said suck it up dad we have fish to catch ha ha. Well turns out they did pretty well they was in fifth place when we left there were 20 boats in their junior division 70 total. I guess they will post how they did later today as we didn’t stay to the end, but the main objective was accomplished however it turns out, memories were made and we learned a lot about table rock lake, I cannot wait to try that lake again! God Bless. Bret Terrierman, MOsmallies, Seth and 8 others 11 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

JestersHK Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Tell him congrats! I seen he's picked up the knack from his dad on how to put nice smallies and bass in the boat! Super awesome buddy. I know you're a proud dad as you should be!
rps Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 OMG! That is a teenager expression. Proud of the young men.
Seth Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Awesome! When in doubt, go shallow! I noticed the boat in front of you weighed in one for 6.45 (6.95 - .50 penalty). That's a slob for TRL! I'm guessing the penalty was for a dead fish though.

Yes they brought the fish down trying to find someone to take it and it wanted to eat it it was a certified dandy for sure… Was proud of my boys they did good they should have gotten third place if it had not been for my mishap in the live well Seth 1 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
