Looks like rain staying over my way, glad I could help.

Toad strangler started about 4 o'clock  in branson. Eased off a bit but still raining.  Looks like it might skip just to the south of you at bssp.

If it doesn't dump another round on us it'll be fine.    But one more deluge and my attitude is going to go south real quickly.   🙄

Ok well..... the weekend offered 3 levels......Wet, Wetter, and Wettest.  Screenshot_20211003-004543~2.png

The vendor tents were cool, as always. Lots of fun talking to everyone. Definitely spent some money, and scored some very sweet deals on rods/reels/line/ and quality rain gear.

The riverside movie got blown out by a thunderstorm shortly after starting.

The river conditions started off low & clear, then came up just a bit and truly could/should have been awesome....but fished pathetic because  apparently the Bennett hatchery can't produce trout over 12" anymore, and are rediculously stingy... even with those. 🙄    It's borderline insulting really.  I wish the MDC Trout program would pull it together and show some pride in their work.  Freakin' excuse making/money wasting losers!  😠   Good grief!

So yeah, if you're wondering what the Niangua trout fishery has to offer currently...,. it's Casting Practice.  So if you need some of that, c'mon down.

Mdc trout in Central Mo has suffered the past few years.  Last year they could not breed them due to social distance in work place.  Borrowed some fry from private source.  Floods and other issues have been the excuses in the years before then.

I gave up on Montauk and upper Current River last season and did not waste gas on it. 11 PT has been devoid of trout this summer also.  They finally brought a load before Labor Day along with some big brood stock.  Malfunction killed the big ones on the way to river I was told.

I don't really know what their plan is for the future, or if they have one.  Seems like Shepard of the Hills keeps doing things right.
