My mom worked for awhile at the home of the criminally insane (Biggs unit in Fulton).    One of her favorite things to say, after telling you a story about one of the inmates, was......"And if you think they are all locked safely away, you are badly mistaken".

Our family bike shop was down the street from the nut house on Arsenal.  One cold winter day a guy walks in with a robe on and no shoes.  He asked if I could sharpen a screwdriver for him.  I said sure, took it, and  walked out the backdoor across the street to the car lot owned by a city cop.  Called 911 and watched then haul him away.
