Members captain belly Posted November 19, 2021 Members Posted November 19, 2021 Just built a portable deer blind, using a truck bed trailer as a base. Shot a couple deer out of it last weekend. Thought folks would like to see this to get ideas. Happy hunting, my friends! https://youtu.be/OUHit83xGXk tho1mas, 45acp, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4

You can build one on a big pallet and move it around with the forks of your tractor. Few sheets of plywood and 2x4 material, some roofing. Or you can load it on a small trailer and pull it around. Our terrain is so hilly and rough that we always built permanent ones when we had the big farm. We haven’t built any since we only have the one farm left but we have been considering one.
jdmidwest Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 I like hub blinds myself, carry in, pop up, stake and tie down. A few chairs, propane heater, and shooting sticks complete the setup. Season over, take down. Dad built a blind like the one on trailer. Every year gets full of mice and wasps. https://www.ameristep.com/browse/ground-blinds/hub-blinds "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. She was grunting and brought a nice 8 pt right up to the stand. She is ready to shoot one for herself now. She is practicing with a Daisy bb gun getting ready for the progression to 22 then 243 or 257 Roberts. BilletHead, grizwilson, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 4
jdmidwest Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 11 should be good to go. Get them all out and let them learn. It's a dying sport, not pc in the current culture. You will have to get them to buck the system. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Dutch Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 It will be tough for the 11. He’s ADHD. It will be interesting for him to be still enough without being in a blind.

Couple of things I've learned about blinds. Carpeted floor is nice for keeping the noise down. A swivel boat seat works good. A layer of foam on the window sill makes for a steady and quiet rest. grizwilson 1
