Jack plate help

I have a 2011 Ranger 522 with Bob's machine jackplate. It will lower but cannot get it to raise. I hear the solenoid click. But motor does not seem to run.

It was very low on hydraulic fluid. So filled and still down but not up. Any help is welcome. I normally do not use it very often, but last time out hit the switch accidentally and went down further than I prefer.

Thanks again for any help. What part needs replaced? Or where to start testing?

Is it a 2-wire or 3-wire pump motor?  

If it's a 2-wire motor then you need to replace BOTH relays (they work in unison... simply reversing polarity) So you'll still hear the "click" but both - and + circuits are not being completed in that direction.

If it's a 3-wire motor then you'll need to test voltage (at the motor) with a multimeter or test light to verify whether or not a circuit in the motor BLUE circuit is broken.  (Blue/sky/up....Green/grass/down) and they share a common ground which is obviously good if it moves in any one direction.

Took the hoses off one at a time.  Thought it might be air locked.  Top hose fitting was broken.  I got oil to pump out of both hoses.

 

Will get a new fitting or hose and see if that is all of the problem.  Fishinwrench... thanks for the input.  Need to check and see if it is two or three wire... again thanks.

Had a 94 Evinrude Intruder 150 for several years. Great engine but the trim relays were bad to go out. Fortunately, they were easily replaced and even better, the two relays (up and down) were interchangeable. Fished an entire tournament one day with one relay. I kept switching them around depending on whether I needed to trim up or down. LOL

After that day, I bought a couple of spares and kept them in the boat.

Notice where Evinrude put their relays?.......Right on top, in front.  Remove the cowling and it's the first thing you see.  

Mercury?...... Way back in the rear, way down low, buried behind everything else.     Why? 🙄  They always position the most likely parts to fail in the most hard to get to areas.  Sonsabitches!

Hose did not help... will need to test further.... I bet its a relay.  It has been inconsistent to work since I bought the boat used...Thanks  for the help will keep posted.
