I might actually start oversizing my wing like you did.  It will make it even easier to see, and likely won't hurt anything.  

You might dip one in water just to make sure the white band doesn't "go dark".  That separation in the body is a critical thing (I think).   I've had to add more wraps of white on several of mine.  That's why I use thread instead of floss (white floss tends to go transparent when it gets wet).

               No I don't think a larger wing will hurt at all. Trudes for the most part are searching patterns and even in turbulent waters float good. Fast water out West they will be used if and when we get to go again.

   I used thread for one center section and having no white floss I subbed GSP white for it. Yes should do the dunk test.
