When I wash my car I wash around the doors on the inside, wipe off the dash, vacuum and wash the Engine.

My wife said she was going to wash her car today. She takes it to a place she don’t have to get out of the car until the last to vacuum it.

She never washes the Engine.

Do you wash your Engine?

I wipe down the dirty parts that I can reach.  I have never bought into the power wash or complete engine degrease idea.

Ah if you’re like me it is always dirt going to the Fishing Hole.

I like keeping it clean just looks better. But if anyone works on it nice not to have grease and oil all over it

Son was by checked my Antifreeze in my car. Dad what does it mean if all the balls are at the top? We’re good.

I blow out the engine compartment with 160psi of compressed air a couple times per year.   Blow off the air intake and cabin filters, and hit the doors, tailgate, and hood hinges and latches with silicone spray, and scrub the battery terminals with a wire brush.

If anything is greasy and nasty then something is leaking, so I either  FIX IT or have it fixed ASAP.

I'm not one of those mechanics that fixes everybody else's stuff.... but let's his own stuff go to hell (very common among lazy mechanics).

My stuff gets all the love FIRST.  🥰

Oneshot I forgot to mention that I don’t wash my truck.  I have it washed.

My wife does too. She is going to have mine washed tomorrow but they won’t wash the Engine.

She takes hers to a club deal.

I resemble that remark...

I'll admit that I let my own stuff slide. I also know what needs to be taken care of soon and what could leave me walking. I'm not going to spend a weekend chasing down an evap code, but I will take care of oil changes and needed repairs in a somewhat timely manner.

I have never washed an engine that I wasn't about to work on. I ruined the ECM in a Honda Foreman once with a pressure washer, so I'm pretty hesitant to go nuts with the pressure washer around all those electronics. 3000 psi easily defeats any weatherpack connector.

So I’m not to wash my Engine?

I was always told to wash it so I have.
