I believe it was 4 years ago that the 3 muslim "international soldiers", temporarily stationed at FLW were hanging around the bagnell dam strip inquiring about scheduling a tour of the dam........and then mysteriously drove their mini-van off a bridge into floodwater and died.

Such a tragedy. 🙄

Well that is a fascinating fisherman’s tale that I’m sure captivates your drunken audience at the ho hum campground.  What’s that got to do with a 4 year old COE report and stimulating the economy today?

Was just pointing out that there is more than one way for a dam to fail.

The dam has surely gotten worse in the last 4 years, I would be more skeered now.  May be a 1 or a .5 if more people have crowded in underneath the flood plain.

I read as much as I could find. The Dam itself is structurally fine as any Dam can be. They got the rating by the population below the Dam and it will never change so the rating will be the same forever.

Truman Dam, which stands between Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks, has been categorized as a potentially unsafe dam, in a risk assessment study conducted in 2018 by the Army Corps of Engineers.

The Harry S. Truman Dam received the assignment of a Dam Safety Action Class (DSAC) 2 Rating. According to the Corps of Engineers, a DSAC 2 Rating is Urgent (Unsafe or Potentially Unsafe) and is characterized as “Failure Initiation Foreseen or Very High Risk.”

According to Harry S. Truman Dam Safety Program Manager Pendo Duku, that rating is a general assessment based on specific concerns. In the case of Truman Dam, the high population numbers downstream and the potential for an extreme rain event are the primary concerns. "Population is greatest concern to us," Duku said.

Yes you did.

It's really cool, in a sadistic kinda way, to think about.

Talk about stimulating the economy!   💲💰💰💰💰💰💲

I didn't say that THE REPORT stimulated the economy.  I was saying that a Truman dam failure would stimulate the economy.

For a second, just imagine the islands of twisted metal, busted boats, and broken seawalls that would require cleaning up afterwards.

Ahh gotcha.   Might need some pipe pile for a new dam too😁
