gabe Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Anyone still throwing the Rogue? I have a boxes full of Megabass 110’s, Spro McStick’s, etc., but I still like throwing the old Rogue some. They are harder to throw and the the action is different but they are still fish catchers. I think they have improved their components and paint jobs some and even added the Elite 8 and Elite 10 to get down deeper. Guess I am sentimental about the old Rogue. Caught some of my best stickbait bass off that old school bait. dtrs5kprs and magicwormman 2
Quillback Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I have some, had one of my best jerk bait days ever on one of the Bella Vista lakes throwing an Elite 8. Found a school of big fish that were in 20 FOW and they were loving that Rogue. Haven't thrown one much since then, but should. Another positive is they are relatively inexpensive. dtrs5kprs and m&m 2
Champ188 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Hey Gabe, I still have a bunch of the old Rogues and still use them ... mostly in the original clown or Table Rock Shad colors. Even the newer suspending models generally require a little tweaking but they are worth the trouble. dtrs5kprs and m&m 2
Bill Babler Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I have a collection of custom painted by Buster Loving and Tim Hughes. Busters also have a bill modification. I may have as many as 30. Still throw them at times. Champ188 and dtrs5kprs 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dtrs5kprs Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Absolutely. Especially the 5 1/2" old Rogue (pre elite 10). Completely different flash and roll than other baits. magicwormman, Quillback and m&m 3
DADAKOTA Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Got lots of the old, discontinued rogues many of which are various table rock shad patterns if anyone needs some. dtrs5kprs 1
Members seabass03 Posted January 6, 2022 Members Posted January 6, 2022 I know we are talking about Rogues but does anyone use the Devils horse? dtrs5kprs 1
gabe Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 I have some Tim Hughes custom painted Rogues in clown, foiled clown, and Table Rock Shad. Still look great. Yes, I have several Devils Horse topwater baits and still use them occasionally. Can be killer around docks in the spring. dtrs5kprs 1
gabe Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 By the way, if anyone watches the Bass Talk Live YouTube channel, Frank Scalish was on today and had a great session on the Rogue. Very interesting and great info. big c and dtrs5kprs 2
