While Bill didn't see me from the Lodge, I was that lone boat out braving the cold between Aunts Creek and Hideaway on Mon- Weds this week.  52-54 deg water temp.  I only saw one other boat at any point in time...talk about having the lake to yourself :).

I could find fish deep but no luck getting anything to bite.  Mainly fished the channel swings, windblown points, 30 to 45 degree transition banks, etc.   No wind, no fish.   Most fish were 8-15' deep.      Also of note, only one fish really ate the bait...all others were hooked on the outside of the mouth.

Stay warm out there 👍

Thanks for the report Edwin.  Been too darned cold and windy for me lately, but next week looks like it might have the kind of weather I need to get out there.  Interesting that the WT is still in the low 50's, but might drop some with today's cold AM.

Here's a tip. Those bright sunny days the little pockets in the back of coves warm up  . Not where you'd really expect to find bass in January but... I think it's an often overlooked pattern. Drag something that resembles a craw  along the bottom.  It's a fairly shallow bite too. Usually less than 12'.

Even on a busy day you'd probably have it all to yourself while the typical winter fishing  spots are getting all the fishing  pressure.

Or the little rig, especially with a finesse ShadZ in cold water. Not every fish wants to be deep, including some good ones.
